Maple Story: Maple Islander GuideSlimes: Slimes have arguably, the best drops of all monsters on Maple Island. However, although they are too good to be true, slimes are consequently too hard to hunt. They drop such items as a white bandana (the best non-event islander hat), leather purse (the best non-event islander weapon), and 10% bottomwear defense scrolls, along with other non-usable islander scrolls. No islander has as of yet found brown aroa shoes (common level 16 shoes), yet these are a possibility. There is no doubt that the Field West of Amherst has the best spawn of slimes. See the Field West of Amherst training area section for a recommended way to hunt slimes.
Pigs: Pigs are great for dropping unique ores, dropped by no other monsters. They drop as well 10% Shoe DEX scrolls and Red Striped T-shirts (f), which are much more uncommon that One-Lined T-shirts (m). However, their drops are inferior to the experience that they give. 15 experience for 75 HP, a fair bit better than orange mushrooms. However, it is much easier to grind on orange mushrooms than pigs. Best spawn is in Field West of Amherst.
