Nexon, I'm trying to like you. I'm trying to like your game. I really am, but I'm finding it hard to believe that this company is going to get any right ideas any time soon.
Tespia needs to be available round the clock. It needs to be available constantly, and content needs to be tested constantly as it is added. This all needs to be done in a way that will make merging to the real server much easier. Want to know why these updates are having so many issues on the official server? It's obvious that Tespia is a completely inferior server that just can't compare to the real thing.
Every time Tespia has been introduced, it's been available for pathetically short amounts of time, and what does this accomplish? Sure we knock out some of the bigger bugs, and sure some issues are noticed, but not all.
So here's what I propose:
1. Tespia is available year round.
2. Patch tespia frequently. Maybe only have it online something like 5 days a week, spend the other 2 debugging.
3. Upgrade Tespia's hardware and software. Clearly something is amiss.
4. Force players to be able to enjoy Tespia, and find some sort of accomplishment for testing your game for you. This is easy: Make Tespia extremely exclusive. Perhaps only available to current Tespia accepted accounts only. But that's not the biggest concern.
Tespia needs to be enjoyable. It needs to require training to get where you want. I propose a similar situation to how KMS does their business. Make it have permanent 10x EXP. This forces players to level up, albeit at a much faster pace, and more thoroughly test the content being proposed.
5. Content from Tespia should be completely ironed out, at least as good as possible before translating to the main servers. This means longer testing periods, perhaps a 1month or so span between the Tespia updates and the content getting to the official servers.
These proposals also maximize profit for Nexon. How much NX have you sold with your servers being basically useless for 4 days? Not much I imagine. Is spending a few thousand dollars on a better tespia worth it? It should be.
I expect this to fall on deaf ears, because I'm nobody. I do have a bachelors degree in computer science and extensive work in the online gaming market, but I digress, these changes are common sense.
